Marcia Walker - Auckland Doctor.

Dr Walker (Marcia)

Born in Auckland, with iwi affiliations to Whakatohea and Ngati Porou, Dr Walker (Marcia) graduated from the University of Auckland Medical School in 2005. She then completed a post graduate diploma in pediatric medicine before training as a specialist general practitioner. 

Auckland doctor Buzz Burrell.

Dr Burrell (Buzz)

Dr Burrell (Buzz) graduated from St George's Hospital Medical School in London in 1986 before completing his specialist general physician training in Derbyshire. He then emigrated to New Zealand as a respiratory research fellow and lecturer for the University of Otago. Buzz was voted Lecturer of the Year in Dunedin 1993 and Runner up New Zealander of the Year in 1997. 

Meeting Your Doctor for an Online Consultation

  • Your doctor will admit you and begin your consultation
  • Your consultation may take up to 20mins

At the end of the consultation, your doctor will email your prescription to a pharmacy of your choice and email you doctor’s certificate if you need one.

  • What can I talk about during an online appointment

    A wide variety of general medical and health concerns and acute or chronic conditions. 


    Our doctors can also help you with:

    • ACC consultations and second opinions
  • How long are the appointments?

    15 minutes - so you won’t feel rushed and your doctor will have time to discuss your health concerns properly.

  • What can’t you help with during an online appointment?

    An online appointment is fine for many things. If you need to make an in person appointment, your doctor will advise of this.  Parkview Medical Group will offer on site appointments from next year onwards.


    Under the Medicines Act and Misuse Of Drugs Act, we cannot routinely re-prescribe drugs of addiction such as opioid medications including, but not limited to morphine, oxycodone, fentanyl, tramadol, codeine, methadone and buprenorphine, OR sedatives including, but not limited to, benzodiazepines and zopiclone.

     

    We also can’t provide vaccinations or procedures such as minor surgery or biopsies or IV therapies.  

  • Can I change or cancel my online appointment?

    Yes.

    • Please email Parkview Medical via admin@parkviewmedical.co.nz between 8am and 5pm Monday-Friday.

    Cancellation policy

    • Cancellations more than 24 hours of the appointment will be fully refunded.  
    • Cancellations less than 24 hours of the appointment will receive a 50% refund. 
    • Missed appointments will be charged at the full rate and no refund will be given.

  • Will my health insurance cover the cost of an online consultation?

    That depends on your health insurance cover.


    Please check with your health insurance provider to find out if you can claim your Doctors on Call consultation. 


    You will receive a confirmation and receipt automatically when you book online that can be used for insurance purposes – again, depending on your insurance cover. 

  • Can I see the same doctor I saw last time?

    Yes – you sure can. 


    Just make sure you select the doctor you saw last time when you book. On the rare chance your usual doctor isn’t available at a time that suits, you can book with one of our other doctors who’ll have access to your patient information and records.

  • Can you get access to my medical records?

    Will are not able to access your medical records held by your regular GP, but with your permission, we can access some of your health information through regional medical systems. This may include prescription information, recent blood test results and clinic letters from the hospital.  


    As we do not enroll patients, we will never request your notes from your regular GP. However, you are entitled to your own medical records from your GP and any private specialists you may have seen. You may wish to request these and use them to help guide our discussions with us.
